This offering is for a nice WWI For Service On The Mexican Border medal. It is numbered 11516. I found information that it was presented to a soldier from Menomonie, Wisconsin. This was found in a book of Mexican Border Service Medal Issue Records (library call # 973.001) by Williams and Reynolds (Planchet Press). A copy of this book is located in Allen County, Ft Wayne, Indiana, in the Genealogy Department of the main library. The medal/pin is about 2 3/4 inches long (including both the ribbon and medal) and about 1 1/4 inches wide at the top of the ribbon. It is in good, used vintage condition. There are some dark areas and tarnish on the medal (mostly on the side with the eagle). The ribbon has some staining/discoloration. Otherwise it is in good, used, vintage condition. The clasp closes well. The medal/pin is numbered on the edge as you can see in my last picture. Please send us a message with any questions.
