His trio is marked as ASC, with his Military Medal named as RASC, following the 1918 change to the Royal Army Service Corps. Driver Howe entered the Western Front on 5 November 1914, with the 5th Divisional Train, Army Service Corps, supporting the 23rd Infantry Brigade. In addition to being awarded a 1914 “Mons Star” medal trio, Howe was awarded the Military Medal on 17 June 1919, in recognition of his bravery in the field during his service.
