This is a superb genuine WW2 Air Raid Patrol Wardens job lot. WW2 Wardens uniforms, equipment etc are becoming increasingly popular and also harder to come by as time goes on, there was considerably less Wardens than they were soldiers, home guard an so on. So its understandable why its desirable. This job lot is named to one person, I only know their forename initials and surname. It has marks, wear, scratches, discolouration on the chinstrap, but nothing major. It has also got the initials W. G very faint W. Hudson & Co whistle – Whistle has wear, scratches and rough in some areas, but still works. The leather Lanyard is exactly the same. Personally I think its character as it doesn’t affect the use of the items. 3 Defence medal – good condition with original ribbon, no box. 4 Air raid precautions handbook No. 3: Medical treatment of gas casualties book – 1st edition published in 1938 – inside cover has W. Glendinning wrote in pencil – book is in good condition. 5 Some type of haversack, which was presumably used for a gas mask as there is still the original anti-dimming. Outfit Mk V tin held inside a loop in the base of the sack – stamped I MA? LE 1939 – sack has wear, marks and some staining, but no damage. The anti dimming tin has perished on one side (very rusty) unsure if its ever been opened. The strap has W. Glendinning wrote in ink. 6 Gas rattle stamped ARP – W. Clements & Son 1939 – fully working order, have some wear and marks as expected and has been painted blue, white and red. This isn’t a modern coat of paint, possibly done by the warden. 7 Silver Hallmarked ARP badge / pin brooch – 38 x 26mm – stamped RJ LION LEOPARDS HEAD B. As you can see this is literally I superb lot and would look superb displayed. Its all also in a functioning condition, so could be used a theatre or film props.
