WW2 US/American Named to a Private in the HQ Company, 2nd Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Division Purple Heart Medal/Pin/Badge. Born in 1920, Derlin Whitfield Williamson was from Ballground, GA. He enlisted in the Army on May 22nd, 1941 and served with the 4th Division in North Africa and Europe. While there, he won 5 Bronze Stars, 3 Military Merit Medals and Good Conduct Medal. I only have the medal pictured. After WW2, he worked extensively with the Veteran of Foreign Wars. He died on May 21, 1997. Included with the sale are copies of the following: Draft Card, Enlistment Record, a newspaper article of his obituary with lots of information about his service, a picture of his gravestone, information on his gravestone and a copy of his VA death file. WW2 US/American S1lver Star Medal – KIA Tanker Martin T. Romanik of Reconnaissance Squadron, Company F, 113th Mechanized Cavalry (M5 Stuart tanks) near Isenbruch, Germany on October 2nd, 1944 – Pin/Badge/Award. Romanik enlisted in Greensburg, PA in January of 1943. He won the star for the action in which he was killed. This also means that he wouldve been entitled to the Heart medal. He is buried in Natrona Heights, PA. Also included in the full General Orders in which his entitlement to the star can be found (only page included in pictures is the one showing Romanik) as well as all research shown in pictures.
