Original WWII New York Conspicuous Service Cross Numbered & Cased. Very nice original US item. Very nice sterling silver cross made by Bastian Brothers of Rochester, New York. In excellent condition with original ribbon and brooch (which is also sterling). The cross was first awarded in 1921 and continues to be awarded today. It could be giving for particular acts of service or was automatically awarded for POWs, KIA/WIA, and servicemen at Pearl Harbor. The medal was awarded to PFC William Robert Parr, Company G, 135th Infantry Regiment, 34th Division. He was awarded the decoration on August 23, 1946. The case has water damage. Here we are offering. A German Eastern People’s Award 1st Class in gilt With Swords, for bravery. The award though unmarked, is believed to be manufactured by the firm of 100 as it has the classic hinge and hook of this maker. This example along with many others, was picked up in the Reichschancellery at the end of the war, by a British servicemen. These awards rated higher than the Iron Cross 1st class. The Legion of Merit Medal (LM, LOM) is a decoration presented by the United States Armed Forces to members of the United States Military, as well as foreign military members and political figures, who have displayed exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services and achievements. The performance must be of significant importance and far exceed what is expected by normal standards. When the award is presented to foreign parties, it is divided into separate ranking degrees. The degrees are as follows: Chief Commander – issued to a head of state or government; Commander – issued to a chief of staff or higher position that is not head of state; Officer – issued to a general or flag officer that is below the chief of staff, colonel or equivalent rank; Legionnaire – issued to all other service members ranking lower than those previously mentioned. Awards presented to United State military members are not divided into degrees. Subsequent awards are denoted by Oak Leaf Clusters for U. Army and Air Force members and Award Stars for U. Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard members. The Valor device is also authorized to be worn by the U. Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard, but not by the U. Army or Air Force.

Not sure the origins of the medals either GB or Australia. Come from a collector of WWI original period items. Image search showed up as Australian medals, but some of them showed up as GB medals.
Rare Original WW2 Chindit Special Forces casualty medal group to. 14397514 Pte James Henry Tocker died 4.6.44. He was in the 7th Bn Leicestershire Regiment, 14th Brigade on Column 45 and 74 who were in the thick of the fighting when he died during. Operation Thursday in 1944. Lot consists of his medals, named box of issue to his wife, condolance slip with crease fold tear to centre, uniform photo but cannot quite make out the cap badge is Leicesters or not, family post war ration books to the same address. Confirmed on the WW2 Special Forces Roll of Honour list.
