The rarest version of the badge of the 1st Polish Grenadier Division. One of only 300 badges made in May 1946 by F. A unique collectors artifact. Badge of the 1st Grenadier Division which fought in the French Campaign of 1940. Combat version with the visible wreath. The badge was introduced in 1943 and awarded to the members of the 1st Grenadier Division, most badges were made by Kirkwood & Son in Edinburgh, however this example is a rarer version made in Italy by F. The badge is the form of stylized crowned eagle sitting on a shield with the sentence inscribed in the circumference (God Honor the Fatherland – Bóg Honor Ojczyzna). In the lower part of the shield you can see the inscribed sign of grenadiers, a burning grenade with a number and initials (D 1 G) meaning 1 Dywizja Grenadierów (1st Grenadier Division). In the center of the shield, the Lorraine cross is visible, partially covering the eagle. Reverse of the badge is smooth with a threaded post and a small point sticking out to prevent rotation on the uniform. Large nut screwback (22.5mm) inscribed F. M Lorioli Milan & Roma. Fantastic condition as on photographs. This item is in the category “Collectables\Militaria\World War II (1939-1945)\Medals/ Ribbons”. WWI World War One British 1914 Mons Star Medal Trio George Hall Grenadier Guards

WWI World War One British 1914 Mons Star Medal Trio George Hall Grenadier Guards

WWI World War One British 1914 Mons Star Medal Trio George Hall Grenadier Guards

Of the actual medals and Clasp in question and not stock photo. George Hall from Bristol joined 1 Grenadier Guards in 1907 and signed for seven years. He was rapidly promoted to Lance Corporal but received a penalty shortly after – the removal of L/Cpl stripes for being in a dirty state (unspecified). Curious that he subsequently remained a private in Grenadier Guards throughout the initial seven years and then throughout WWI, for which he extended his service. Older style online MIC confirms title and award of 1914 Star to 13131 Pte A Hall of 1 Grenadier Guards and records date of entry to theatre of war as being 6 October 1914 (confirming title to Clasp). Another online MIC, updated version, confirms title and award of BWM and AVM to 13131 Guardsman George Hall of Grenadier Guards , date of entry to theatre of war again given as 6 October 1914. 1914 Star impressed to Pte A Hall etc, Pair impressed to Pte G Hall etc. There are no other MICs online showing any Star awarded to any 13131 Pte G Hall, nor any showing any Pair awarded to any 13131 Pte A Hall. 13131 Pte A Hall and 13131 Pte George Hall are one and the same. The only explanation is that Guardsman 13131 George Hall kept his 1914 Star and Clasp incorrectly impressed with the wrong initial. Please see others listed. No other details or papers held. All items promptly mailed and well received. The item “WWI World War One British 1914 Mons Star Medal Trio George Hall Grenadier Guards” is in sale since Tuesday, May 17, 2016. A VERY SCARCE FULL SIZE1914 15 TRIO OF MEDALS CORRECTLY NAMED TO 22828 PTE. WITH TWO VERY NICE ORIGINAL PHOTOGRAPH POST CARDS OF THE RECIPIENT. THEY HAVE A VERY UNUSUAL MOUNT WHICH CONSISTS OF THREE BARS SOLDERED TO THE BACK OF THE SUSPENSION BAR TO PREVENT THE MEDALS FROM SWINGING TYPICAL OF THE GUARDS. THIS HAS NOT DAMAGED THE MEDALS IN ANY WAY WHICH ARE ALL FREE MOVING. THEY ARE ON THEIR ORIGINAL RIBBONS. WHAT IS NICE ABOUT THIS GROUP IS THAT JACK SHOESMITH JOINED THE GRENADIER GUARDS IN 1915 AND THEN WAS INCORPORATED INTO THE SCARCE GUARDS MACHINE GUN REGIMENT WHICH IS CONFIRMED ON HIS MEDAL INDEX CARD AND HIS PENSION PAPERS WHICH ARE ON ANCESTRY. MEDAL INDEX CARD CONFIRM CHANGE OF ARMY NUMBER WHEN HE TRANSFERRED TO GMGR. A VERY SCARCE SET OF MEDALS 100% GENUINE.
