This is a very difficult to find WWI service medal seldom seen or offered for sale. This piece comes with its original presentation box which you never see. This is a named medal with the servicemember’s name of J. Hauge etched on the back. The medal is from the people of Ransom County, North Dakota. The medal back reads Presented By The People of Ransom Co. Hauge one of her Loyal Defenders. The medal ribbon has some soiling and the medal itself has some tarnishing and some corrosion, primarily on the back side. The box is soiled and worn. I did not attempt to clean or alter the piece in any way as thought I’d leave that to the new owner should they choose to do so.
