This sale offers a vintage and original World War II group ID’d to ARLO DENVER PLATT from Portsmouth Ohio, Scioto County. Platt was born December 26, 1915 and died October 14, 2001 in Dayton Ohio. He is buried at Dayton National Cemetery. During World War 2, Platt served in the United States Army with the rank of TEC 4. Included in this grouping lot is. (1) Pratt’s WWII Dog Tags – pair of next-of-kin Dog Tags on a chain. Tags have some discoloration. (2) Pratt’s WWII US Collar Disc – brass pinback- no retaining clip. (3) Pratt’s WWII Army Service Forces Patch – slight soiling – does not glow in black light. (4) Pratt’s WWII pair of Technician Patches – do not glow under black light – excellent shape. Pratt’s WWII Good Conduct Medal in box with ribbon ba r, not named. Pratt’s WWII Victory Medal in box and 2 ribbon bars – excellent shape. Pratt’s WWII American Campaign Medal Service Ribbon. Pratt’s engraved High School ring from Ohio – marked with his initials “ADP” and “Josten’s 10K and Sterling”. WW1 Cased Military Cross Medal With Collar Badges. McMechan – Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers. A First World War Military Cross awarded to Captain J. McMechan of the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers dated 1917. The medal has its original ribbon and comes in its original presentation case which includes two Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers shoulder. The medal is inscribed to the reverse Capt. McMechan, Royal Inniskilling Fus, 1917. The medal and badges are of standard sizes. The set with case weighs 225g. The medal is in great condition with very minimal wear. The ribbon has some slight discolouration from age. The badges are in good condition. The case is in good order with a little wear to the outside and a pen mark to the inner silk. The Military Cross (MC) is a third-level British Armed Forces military decoration awarded in recognition of an act or acts of exemplary. Gallantry during active operations against the enemy on land. The Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers was an Irish line infantry regiment of the British Army in existence from 1881 until 1968. Was formed in 1881 by the amalgamation of the 27th (Inniskilling) Regiment of Foot and the 108th Regiment of Foot. It saw service in the Second Boer War, the First World War and the Second World War. In 1968 it was amalgamated with the other. Regiments in the North Irish Brigade, the Royal Ulster Rifles, and the Royal Irish Fusiliers (Princess Victoria’s) into the Royal Irish Rangers.
