WW1 MEDAL PAIR AWARDED TO FREDERICK JOHN BROTHERIDGE, 3rd SQUADRON ROYAL AIR FORCE, KILLED IN ACTION 19th MAY 1918. ALL ORIGINAL AND FULL SIZE. WW1 WAR MEDAL AND VICTORY MEDAL CORRECTLY NAMED TO LIEUT. COPY OF CWGC CASUALTY DETAILS. SECOND LIEUTENANT FREDERICK JOHN BROTHERIDGE, 3rd SQDN, ROYAL AIR FORCE WHO DIED 19th MAY 1918 AGED 19. SON OF CLARA ANN BROTHERIDGE, ASHELWORTH, GLOUCESTER, GLOUCESTERSHIRE. REMEMBERED WITH HONOUR AT THE ARRAS FLYING SERVICES MEMORIAL. COPY OF AIR MINISTRY SERVICE RECORDS. LIEUTENANT BROTHERIDGE WAS A SOPWITH CAMEL PILOT. MISSING THEN CONFIRMED KILLED 19/5/1918, PLANE HIT OVER NORTHERN FRANCE. FORMER PUPIL OF KINGS SCHOOL GLOUCESTER, HE BEGAN TRIANING AS AN ARCHITECT BUT ON HIS EIGHTEENTH BIRTHDAY HE WAS CONSCRIPTED INTO THE GLOUCESTERSHIRE REGIMENT. HE LATER SIGNED UP FOR THE ROYAL FLYING CORPS WHICH IN TURN BECAME THE ROYAL AIR FORCE. HIS BROTHER GEORGE BROTHERIDGE WAS KILLED IN ACTION WITH THE 1/5th GLOUCESTERSHIRE REGIMENT.
