RUBE, UNITED STATES ARMY, FOR EXCEPTIONALLY MERITORIOUS CONDUCT IN THE PERFORMANCE OF OUTSTANDING SERVICES TO THE GOVERNMENT OF THE UNITED STATES WITH THE COAST ARTILLERY CORPS FROM MARCH 1944 TO SEPTEMBER 1945. Rube was born in Brooklyn of March 20, 1902. He enlisted in the NYNG on 12 March, 1920, age 17 and was assigned to the 6th Company, 13th CDC. He was federalized with the 27th Division with the rank of Master Sergeant on 16 September 1940. At that time, he was married, 70 tall and 144 pounds, with two years of high school. He died in 1985. ASN 20261874, SSN 101-32-9718. Released from federal service on 21 September 1945. In my fifty plus years of collecting U.
