Offered is an original set of 4 medals, as awarded to Captain J. Waterhouse, who served in the First World War & post war Iraq campaign with the Army Service Corps. 1914/15 Star, impressed named CAPT. British War Medal & Victory Medal, impressed named CAPT. & 1918-62 General Service Medal, with clasp IRAQ, impressed named CAPT. Medals in exceptionally fine condition and are swing mounted for display & come with M. James Waterhouse was commissioned temporary Lieutenant in the Army Service Corps on 19 February 1915, and served during the Great War on the Western Front from 9 July 1915. He was appointed Assistant Provisional Marshall on 19 May 1917, and subsequently served in Iraq and Mesopotamia. He transferred to the Reserve of Officers on 16 February 1922 and was removed having reached the age limit on 29 January 1929. We list militaria and coins weekly. Offered is an original 1918-62 General Service Medal for the South Persia Campaign to a member of the Coke’s Rifles (Frontier Force). 36 mm wide circular cupro-nickel medal with ornate scrolled ribbon suspension bar with S. The medal is impressed named to: 2385 L. The medal was originally instituted on 19 January 1923 to be awarded to Army and Air Force personnel involved in small conflicts outside Africa and India where a separate campaign medal was not issued. The South Persia campaign bar was awarded for service at or near Bushire with Major-General J. Douglas and Brigadier-General A. Elsmie from 12 November 1918 22 June 1919. The bar also accounted for service at or near Bandar Abbas with Major-General Sir Percy Sykes or Lieutenant Colonel E. Orton from 12 November 1918 3 June 1919. We list militaria and coins weekly.
