100% Genuine full size & correctly named WW1 Military Medal (MM) & 1914-15 star trio. John Sidney Stock first landed in France 26-7-1915 & was awarded the Military Medal (MM) for bravery in the field whilst serving in France & Flanders in the London gazette dated 24-1-1917. He was killed in action in France & Flanders 1-9-1918 serving with C. Battery, 174th Brigade, Royal Field Artillery & was 25 years of age at the time of his death. He was born in Paddington, w & enlisted in Marylebone, w. He is Buried in the Valley Cemetery at Vis-en-Artois in Flanders & is recorded by the Commonwealth war graves commission as the late son of John Edward & Hannah stock of 10 Myrtle road, Acton, Middlesex. The medals are 100% genuine & full size official issue medals. They are however official replacements as issued by the Royal mint & as such every medal is impressed with a single capital letter R to denote a replacement issue. The recipients nephew told me that he applied for replacement medals on behalf of his father who was the recipients brother in the 1970, s he also told me that the original group was lost in the London Blitz. Every medal is correctly & officialy impressed with the MM & 1914-15 star being named to the recipient as a member of the RFA & the pair named to the recipient simply as RA. Complete with copy medal index card details. Along with details from the London gazette for the award of the MM & details from both soldiers died in the great war & the Commonwealth war graves commission. See pictures for more details.
