A used WW1 British Royal Naval Air Service RNAS DSC Medal Grouping To Flt S Lt W. S Williams & Service Records. These medals are in excellent condition. This is a complete set of medals issued to Flt S Lt W. All of the WW1 service medals are named the same.. The victory medal has come loose from the mounting and is separate from its ribbon. This grouping includes a digital, and hard copy binder full of Williams service records, DSC action report from 1917 and personal life records from birth up until his death in 1947. The DSC is not named, but is hallmarked. This is an extremely nice and rare grouping that would look excellent in any collection or museum. Great for display or reference. Offered is a Great War 1916 Western Front Distinguished Conduct Medal & Military Medal group of five awarded to Sergeant G. Stewart, Royal Field Artillery. Sergeant Stewart earned his D. For the 1916 Somme Offensive whilst serving with’D’ Battery, Royal Field Artillery. Court mounted for display medal bar includes the following impressed named medals: Distinguished Conduct Medal, G. 1914-15 Star L-22614 SJT: G. ; British War and Victory Medals L-22614 A-W. London Gazette 26 January 1917: For conspicuous gallantry in action. He displayed great courage and initiative in leading several wagons to a place of safety under heavy fire, undoubtedly saving many casualties. On another occasion he rendered valuable assistance in rescuing three buried men. London Gazette 5 November 1917 (this gazette date contains mostly Ypres campaign awards). George Stewart was born in February 1895 and attested for the Royal Field Artillery at Deptford, London, on 20 April 1915. Advanced Sergeant on 28 August 1915, he served with 156th Brigade during the Great War on the Western Front from 12 December 1915, and was awarded both the Distinguished Conduct Medal and the Military Medal, the former most likely for gallantry during the Battle of the Somme. The award of the BEM was for exemplary conduct and actions. The BEM and group of medals were awarded to 14619569 Lance Corporal Alfred J Collins of the Royal Engineers. Correctly named to 14619569. L / CPL ALFRED J. The medals have been court mounted with their original ribbons. The award was gazetted / published in the London Gazette on 9th January 1946. Offered is a swing mounted as worn medal group of 8 to James Jones, who served in both the British Army during WW1 and Royal Navy during WW2. 1914-15 Star, impressed named to 50928, DVR. British War and Victory Medals, impressed named to 50928 DVR. 1939-45 Star; Atlantic Star; Defence and War Medals 1939-45 (last 4 un-named as issued); Royal Naval Reserve L. 1st issue, impressed named to 211 E. James Ernest George Jones was born in Plymouth, Devon, in July 1898. He enlisted at the age of 18 at Plymouth 19th September 1914 and served during the Great War with the Royal Engineers on the Western Front from 5 July 1915 with the 18th (Eastern Division) Signal Company. Included is a copy of his service record (burnt record type). After the war he was employed as a fisherman, and also joined the Royal Naval Reserve at Milford Haven in February 1924. He was awarded his R. Jones was mobilised as an Engineman with the outbreak of the Second World War, and after postings to Chatham and H. Eaglet at Liverpool, he was posted to the trawler Lady Beryl in October 1939. Jones went with the Lady Beryl to operate out of Trinidad in June 1944. He was demobilized in December 1945. Here’s an interesting little lot. All items are the former possession’s of Charles S Wilson, who served for the Royal Corps of Signals during WW2. At the time he was living at Clifton, Penrith in Cumberland (Cumbria). Africa star medal – Missing Eighth army clasp, or the ribbon has been replaced. An original photograph of Charles (X marked above his head) with some of his comrades – On the reverse it has To Muriel with best love from C. W 2.11.40 – Photograph has a crease line. Charles National Identity card stamped 1945 and his wife’s national identity card stamped 1943. See my other militaria currently for sale and I add new items on a regular basis.
